Tentou compatibilizar o fixismo coa existencia de fósiles. Esta teoría afirmaba que a terra fora poboada por unha sucesión de faunas e floras que foran destruidas por catástrofes , unha delas era o diluvio universal . Así a idade da Terra fixouse en 70000.
